EZ's Baby Surprise Jacket

Last night we started our Knitalong and it was great to see all of the different yarns that everyone had chosen for the project. Remember to post any questions or comments about the project as you are working on it, so that we can all help each other along the way. Also you can publish pictures of your finished garment here on the blog for us to ooh and aah over. These great baby items will probably be given as gifts before we can see them in person, so let us see how they turn out!

A quick note about a yarn store... 'The Tangled Skein' in Hyattsville will be closed next week so that the landlord can do repairs. They expect to reopen Aug. 28th, but call before you go just in case they aren't done.

Enjoy the last of summer. Sweater weather is right around the corner!

Anybody using sport weight yarn?

I recognize that woman on the right under the blue awning. Hi!

I'm using some worsted weight, boucle-like cotton yarn. I am liking the textured effect and it is 'forgiving' if my decreases aren't exactly lined up!

I've got DK weight.

So, my stitch count is off. I decreased down to 92, thinking better to stay a little bigger (target of 90) instead of going smaller to 88. Which means my increase (target 114) will either be 112 or 116. Now I'm thinking 112 is better. Can't wait to see what this blob turns out to look like!

So..

I have also started another one on worsted weight with larger needles. Comparing the two.

Is there a deadline on this?

I think the deadline would be when the baby grows out of the size you are knitting for it to wear.

Of course, then it's just for the next baby that comes along.
